Chelsea Antique Mall...

While my sister and I were home this past weekend we went out to look for a chandelier and headboard for my niece's new bedroom. I am happy to say we found both items, but sad to say we forgot to photograph them before being packaged up for the trip home {sorry; we will post photos soon}. We went to multiple places {Tricia's Treasures, Hoover Antique Mall, Bama Antique Mall}, but ended up finding them in our own 'backyard'. Our little helper had a lot of fun and loved every location.

{some booths have new and custom items; like this swinging bed}

It would seem I have a new found love for old colored Pyrex and can't get enough of it. I brought these two bowls home with me.

Open Up...

We have been opening our windows every evening for the cool breezes. I wouldn't mind having doors and windows like these to open wide.

Re-do & Refresh...

Has Spring put a skip in your step to re-do and refresh some things in your home? I am looking forward to tackling the chairs and dresser soon {busy schedule + paint color pending=delays} and I hope to get a fresh coat of paint in the bathroom. The beige is boring and I am thinking a crisp, clean white. My sister is moving into their new home soon, so while visiting our parents this weekend we finalized her paint colors and then explored multiple antique malls searching for a headboard and chandelier for her daughter's bedroom {we had success; more on that later}. If your ready to refresh your home, but aren't sure where to start, take a peak at these 20 easy weekend projects to get ideas. Happy Monday!

Do Just One...

We can make every day Earth Day. Martha has a 30 day daily tip calendar with suggestions for ways we can help save the planet. I know we can all do just one, if not all of them!

House Tours...

I loved all the great tours throughout last week.

Kitchen Inspiration...

My sister and her husband will hopefully be closing on their new home this week! The home they are purchasing has a nice layout and good bones, but there are some areas that need a few aesthetic makeovers. The kitchen is one of the areas they would like to tackle, so here are few inspiration images. The kitchen is large enough to add a freestanding island (but not as large as the one's shown).

And to my surprise, she is thinking black for the cabinetry finish. For those who have black cabinetry, please share any pros & cons.

Lets go camping...

Or 'Glamping' as it it called {Glamorous camping}. The folks at The Resort at Paws Up, in Montana, combine a little bit of glamour with a little bit of camping. What could be more exotic than a romantic getaway in the great outdoors in a luxurious tent, with a king-size feather bed, fine linens, spacious deck, electricity, private bath with heated floor and plush towels, gourmet meals, housekeeping, and butler service. You can also have gourmet coffee every morning, a tent spa where you can relax after a day of outdoor activity, and nightly bonfires with entertainment; all while enjoying the beauty of God's creation. Sign me up!

Twist & Spout...

Photobucket

I have a large 'smart water' bottle under my kitchen sink that I saved and use to water my plants. And yes, I am aware of a thing called a 'watering can', but you don't aways have room for one or a place to store it {especially living in a condo}. The Twist and Spout {first seen here} fits virtually any soda or water bottle with a screw-on cap and instantly gives them a renewed life as ergonomic pourers. There is a kitchen version {in pink} and a garden version {in blue}. Call me crazy but I think I need to get one, or both! Has anyone ever seen them, have them, or used them? I would like to know how well they work.
